Transparency & Accountability
Bees and Honey, Salt and Pepper and…Transparency and Accountability? That’s right! Tulong feels strongly that when you get Transparency, you get Accountability too, and vice versa. They are lock step. They go hand in hand. And they’re a really important part of our journey.
Values
To understand why they’re so important to us, you’ll want to know what we value. It’s no secret. Our values relate to social action. It is our intention to help bring about global, social change.
Tulong means “help.” That’s what we want to do. We value:
- Human rights and social justice
- Personal responsibility and intellectual honesty
- Exemplary service to our customers, our communities and our development partners
- Empowering and creating self-sufficiency and living-wage employment opportunities in the communities that we serve
- Quality and sustainability in all that we do
- Community engagement and social justice that is responsive to the ever-changing world
- Nurturing connection and building community with all of humanity
- Safe, people-friendly and earth-friendly products
- Kindness and respect in the way we act in the world
An Open Book
We also value sleeping well at night. We invite you to turn the pages – we’re an open book. Reading the fine print is time consuming, but we like it! We don’t make claims or promises that we can’t back up, and neither do our development partners.
Transparency
You know what this means. You can see through us, and that’s a good thing. We are characterized by visibility and accessibility of information, especially concerning our business practices.
We will share with you ALL of our documentation, certifications and even our aspirations. You might wish to check out our Code of Conduct too.
We’re transparent, in the best of ways. That means we don’t practice Greenwashing. If you want to find out what we don’t do, take a look.
Accountability
We do what we say we are going to do. Our product claims are substantiated with independent, third party sources, auditors, and certification bodies. We embrace recognized certifications (see our Code of Conduct) and other processes in the realm of manufacturing, corporate social responsibility and fair labor practices. Why? Because that’s part of our journey and our values.
Choices and Actions
At the end of the day, we are accountable for our choices and our actions. The only claims we’ll make are those that can be fully and completely substantiated. Our claims and commitments are made with an intent and purpose that is consistent with our values.
We hope you will join us on the journey to be our best in every aspect of what we do.
